War Child UK | I Am Not a Robot
War Child UK approached me to create a film for their awareness campaign, Reclaiming Dreams. The aim of the film was to raise awareness of mental health and psychosocial support urgently needed to help children displaced by war. The film depicts a young girl, trapped inside a robot suit that makes it impossible for her to communicate with others until she begins to feel safe again.
The film was a runaway success, receiving millions of views and being shared by celebrities such as MARINA (whose music inspired the film), Sam Smith and Sir Paul McCartney. The robot suit was adopted as a mascot by War Child UK and has so far made appearances in schools, BRITs Week and London Fashion Week (see below). Most importantly, the film was screened in the Houses of Parliament and played a key part in influencing the UK Government to directly fund an 18-month War Child programme on mental health and psychosocial support in the Central African Republic.
